The Divine Mercy devotions play an important part in the life of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish. Our beautiful Shrine of Divine Mercy in the Lower Church exalts “God’s greatest attribute” and honors Saint Faustina and Pope Saint John Paul II, who propagated this special devotion to the world.
We are hoping to initiate a new Cenacle of Divine Mercy at OLR beginning Monday, January 23, at 12 p.m. in Guadalupe Hall. Please join us for a 45-minute screening of “Divine Mercy, No Escape,” a video produced by the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception. As part of this meeting, we will also explain the Cenacle program and invite you to join.
What is a Cenacle? It is a word that references the Upper Room where Jesus and His disciples ate the Last Supper, and it has come to reference a certain type of dedicated prayer group. The Cenacle program, an outreach ministry of the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Mass., incorporates readings from St. Faustina’s Diary, Scripture, and the Catechism, as well as prayer, and, eventually, participation as a group in acts of mercy in the community. During a typical 60 – 75-minute meeting, participants will pray, discuss the readings, and share what they mean in their own lives.

Your church is so blessed to have the Dvine Mercy Shrine, a cenacle starting and to have Fr. Dwight Longenecker. It’s a blessing to speak with Alice Baird and pray for her efforts in establishing this. I have been attempting to generate an interest in our church, St. John the Beloved in Summerville and it’s slowly getting started. We will continue to pray for your success.
