April 1 – If you haven’t been part of a local small group at OLR, now might be a good time to participate, even if its just as an email or phone member. We are compiling a list of parishioners sorted by geographic areas to keep in touch with our OLR family during this pandemic. Please email Donna Craft at dcraft@charlestondiocese.org.

March 30 – The new MercyWorks website can be found HERE. There are easy options to donate, and also find out about possible assistance if needed during the COVID 19 pandemic.

March 27 – Reminder of the Pope’s special indulgence offered today at 1:00pm. Go HERE for details. The at home worship aid and video will soon be posted for this weekend. Links will be published when available.

March 26 – Fraudulent emails are being circulated as if they are coming from Fr. Longenecker. It might say, “Hi (your name here), how are you doing? I need a favor from you, email me as soon as you get this message. God Bless, Fr. Dwight Longenecker”. Please do not open these emails and delete immediately.

March 25 – Yesterday Bishop Gugielmone issued his most recent guidelines for worship in our diocese. His letter can be read HERE.

March 23 – Our Headmaster, Tommy Curtin is sending daily updates to all OLR school families, and Fr. Longenecker will have an update letter posted here on the OLR home page later this week.

March 22 – Fourth Sunday of Lent – go HERE for the OLR resources for Sunday Mass at home. There is also an opportunity to join an online group for the Sung Divine Mercy Chaplet – information is found HERE.

March 20 – Later today the weekly Friday e-newsletter will be published via email. There will be helpful instructions and links for all parishioners including a Liturgy of the Word for home use on Sunday. Please remember that the pastoral staff are available for assistance, please contact them via email (listed on the e-bulletin at the OLR website).

March 19 – For the Solemnity of St. Joseph, Pope Francis is requesting that all Catholics join him in praying the rosary asking God for speedy deliverance from the coronavirus. If possible the rosary should be prayed at  pm EST in solidarity with the pope leading the rosary at 9pm in Rome.

March 16 – Daily Masses will continue at the regular times, however we will meet in UPPER CHURCH to enable the faithful to be seated well apart from other attendees.

Upper Church will continue to be unlocked during normal school hours (8am-3pm).

Friday 2:30pm Stations of the Cross usually led by OLR students are canceled, however there will still be Stations at 5:30pm on Wednesdays.

March 15 – Bishop Guglielmone has indicated, effective today, that all diocesan employees are to work from home until further notice.  Consequently, the church office will be closed until we hear from the Bishop again about this matter. There has, as of yet, been no change in the Mass or Confession schedules, and they  will be celebrated as usual. Please check the website for updated information that will be posted as we receive it. Let us pray that God will be merciful and rid us of this pestilence, heal those who are ill, and preserve in good health all of our loved ones.
